Information on Foreclosures

Foreclosure Listings

There are many resources out there to aid you in your new life in the world of real estate foreclosure. Foreclosure listings are one of them. Foreclosure listings or Foreclosure Listing Reporting Services contain some of the best and most helpful information that you will find regarding real estate and bank foreclosures.
The great thing about foreclosure listings and reporting services is that many of them originated from those who did the original courthouse research for lawyers, title, or search companies regarding the foreclosure. After they noticed the success and demand for this new information, many companies have expanded these reporting services, and in doing so made the information available to every day foreclosure real estate customers. Now don’t fear, information gathered from Foreclosure Listings is usually very reliable. Remember the professionals in the foreclosure industry use this same information.

"In the long run, foreclosure listings can be very helpful. Just
make sure you know about the ones that you are getting into."

There are a whole slew of various foreclosure listings and reporting services, the quality, type, price, and timeliness of the information all differ greatly depending on the publication. This is why it is imperative that you make sure thoroughly investigate any foreclosure listing publication or service before subscribing to them. While it’s true that many foreclosure listings are great in quality, others are not so great.
For example, beware of REO list publishers. Many of these foreclosure listings claim to be networked with thousands of banks across the country, this is entirely false. There is no such national network of banks. The publisher merely contacts the banks and asks for an updated list of foreclosure properties, now this may sound okay, and in some ways it is. However, when you factor in the time it takes to do the research, get the list, lay it out, and then deliver, it is often weeks after the properties first appeared. On average only about 80% of the original properties are still available on these foreclosure listings.
In the long run, foreclosure listings can be very helpful. Just make sure you know about the ones that you are getting into. Try to limit your search to your own area. Why would you want listings of the entire nation if you only wanted to move a few blocks? A great place to begin your search for foreclosure listings is The Real Estate Library.
